Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Our vineyards do not require tilling, plowing or planting each year and are managed less intensively than other crops and fruits. This results in less soil disruption and less greenhouse gas emissions, reducing our carbon footprint.

Bringing the Goodness

Over 800 acres are currently certified organic with more than 200 in the process of converting to organic. Many of our vineyards are over 100 years old and have been family owned for several generations.

Sustainability Facts

Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Welch’s has been using rail cars to ship concentrate since 1996. Each railcar shipment eliminates 4 trucks from our roadways. Moving freight by train instead of truck reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

Farm to Juice

Welch’s processing plants are placed within our growing regions so that the grapes are harvested at peak quality and pressed into juice within 8 hours of being picked from the vine. Welch's 100% juice is made from the whole grape; pressing the skin and seeds, which maximizes the health benefits.
